The Tories are not our masters, they are inhuman thugs

23_january_2015A letter a day to number 10. No 983

Friday 23 January 2015.

Dear Mr Cameron,

Whatever position you hold in the land, you are no ones master by right of birth, inheritance, education, wealth, fame, vote or infamy. Whatever they taught you at Eton, I am afraid that you were sadly misinformed. I am very sure that you are no fan of democracy or elections, the war of words and promises, the smears, sneers and outright lies, have already begun.

It is good to see that the law does catch up with MPs from time to time, as it has with former government Chief Whip Andrew Mitchell having to pay £300,000 in legal costs for the ridiculous “Plebgate” affair, but these are rare cases.

I have on three occasions tried to bring charges against Iain Duncan Smith (IDS) for breaches of the human rights act and Section 71 – of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 in which Section 71 creates a new offence in England and Wales and Northern Ireland of holding someone in slavery or servitude, or requiring a person to perform forced or compulsory labour.

On the 21 January this year, IDS announced in a press release: “This government is committed to ensuring that everyone who is able to work is given the skills and the opportunities to do so.” – “It is only right that in return for that support – and in return for their benefits – jobseekers are expected to do all they can to find work. Although on benefits, they still have a job: the job is to get back into work (italics mine).”

IDS is sounding more like a gangland thug every day and it is long overdue that he was taken down a peg or two. He has ceased to regard people as human beings with aspirations, desires, sensibilities, feelings and dreams. Although he is far from alone in this in your government, he is the man targeting the poor and vulnerable in a campaign of terror, along with his henchman and woman, David Freud and Esther McVey.

The demands, threats and punishments the DWP are inflicting on people are totally unacceptable, unreasonable and, in fact, downright illegal. The Police, in refusing to accept the charges I attempted to bring against IDS, are acting in place of the courts, perverting the course of justice and preventing the protection of vulnerable people and justice from being seen to be done. You are not our masters, and I certainly do not surrender the sovereignty of my body to anyone. The fact that you can inflict harm on us is not mastery, that is thuggery.
