Dear Mr Cameron,
I include the following in this letter because it raises the question I want to ask, what constitutes extremism? “The ASA banned the Home Office’s ‘Go Home’ travelling ad campaign, calling it ‘misleading’ as it contained inaccurate arrest statistics. The advert, which told illegal immigrants to ‘go home or face arrest’, received 224 complaints with some calling the language similar to that used by the National Front in the 1970s.”
In dealing with a government which routinely lies to the nation there is no possibly basis on which we, the people, can possibly trust you. If we could use your promises on frying pans they’d be more non-stick than Teflon, so your plans to introduce new laws to deal with extremism are, and should be, a matter of profound concern to anyone involved in any form of political dissent in the UK.
The plans to give wide-ranging new powers to the National Security Council on the pretext of countering increasing Islamic extremism allow for “harmful activities” of all extremist individuals – including those that pose a risk of public disorder or a threat to the functioning of democracy.
I note that these new powers are to be fast tracked into effect. Is there some credible extreme threat that poses an immediate danger to national security and democracy or, as is more likely the case, is this just an attempt on your part to suppress dissent in all its forms?
I have catalogued the extremism of your government daily for over three years and have provided links to the supporting evidence on social media. I and many others have exposed your government as the worst government in UK history responsible for untold misery and hardship. The problem we now face is the threat of an extremist government taking action against those who they consider a threat to their extremism, which are, by and large, the voices of reason and common sense crying out for social justice. Time will tell and I shall be happy to be proved wrong, but I won’t be holding my breath.
