Dear Mr Cameron,
Incredibly, not content with crashing the global economy and being bailed out by taxpayers and ultimately responsible, with help from their fellow crooks in suits, for every accursed ideological austerity policy since, two banking groups are suing the US government for compensation because they didn’t benefit enough from the bailouts.
Maurice “Hank” Greenberg, former chief executive of AIG is demanding $23 billion from the US Treasury, and a group of hedge funds want as much as $100 billion in profits given to them from US government holdings.
In other breaking news HSBC, labelled the worlds most corrupt bank, under a motto of “courageous integrity” is to axe 25,000 jobs around the world, including up to 8,000 in the UK and is set to ‘trim’ its 1,057 branches across the UK by 12%. HSBC, involved in laundering money for Mexican drug barons, a foreign exchange-rigging debacle and a tax-avoidance scandal in its Swiss banking arm, is not widely known for any kind of courageous integrity and is about to abandon staff and customers for profits elsewhere.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has come out in favour of continued austerity measures, despite cutting its own forecasts for the UK’s economic growth. It’s hardly a surprise as it means more power to cut wages, offer zero hours contracts and enjoy a continued free stream of slave workers on Workfare paid for by the tax payer, in fact ensuring misery for millions whilst reaping all the rewards.
Economist Michael Burke put it thus, “The CBI of course remains a strong supporter of austerity. This isn’t surprising as the purpose of austerity is to transfer incomes from workers and the poor to big business. CBI members benefit from that. But this does nothing to alleviate the economic crisis, while causing misery for millions.”
Banks and corporations have only one loyalty and that is to their own greed and no good deed goes unpunished by these rampant troughers, eh Mr Cameron? These people aren’t just stealing money, profiting from the lives of those who create their wealth and who bailed out the banks, they are stealing lives and homes, communities and services, even our NHS, aided and abetted by you and your government in an obscene, and escalating, orgy of greed.
