A letter a day to number 10. No 1,326
Monday 25 January 2016.
Dear Mr Cameron,
As much as you assault us with outrageous lies, we, the people, will not surrender, no matter that you call us extremists and spin and lie your way through your time in government.
As an artist, musician and painter of words and being mentally ill, I will always work harder than you. A striver, not least for peace of mind.
I will never understand people who seek power for self serving reasons or those for whom money is the capstone of life. What nonsense.
Throughout my life I have found joy in artistry and the revolutionary role artists play in life. I’ve been accused of being a dreamer so often that I consider such an accusation an affirmation of my life, living and being.
Human kind has not made a single step without those who dream, invent and drive life forwards. Not for money or reward, but because of an idea, a thought, an inspired moment. No one invented fire, but someone, somewhere, kindled fire for living and fire has served us well ever since. Without fire humanity would not exist. Yet, stupidly, fire and heat have been privatised as energy companies, for profit.
The progress from humble fireplaces has become a privatised business that fewer and fewer people can afford. It’s called energy, for profit. How foolish we have been to allow that. Hoodwinked by profiteering liars.
Coming from those of you who have inherited luxurious amounts of wealth, it is really too rich of you to tell the rest of us how to live our ordinary but precious lives, and to deprive those in need, the young, the old, the sick and disabled all across this land, of the barest subsistence with not one luxury.
We now live in the age of stupid, which is just plain stupid, so stupid that it beggars belief. You lack even the sense to get out of our way, preferring regress to progress. You could not even hold your position as Prime Minister without the creative cash cow of humanity that you betray on a daily basis. What a human travesty!
