Cameron launches plan to counter extremism, not his, of course

Dear Mr Cameron,

I don’t think you will ever know how bizarre it is to be writing to the worst and most extreme prime minister of the worst and most extreme government in UK history who announced on Twitter, “Delighted to see the focus on British values @DenbighHigh where we launched our plan to defeat extremism.” I am sure that Denbigh High were touched to be the launch pad for your little witch hunt speech focused on Islamist extremists to the exclusion of all others.

Whatever the truth is behind 9/11 what it was not was an act of war launched by Iraq under the command of Saddam Hussein, even Bush was forced to admit that, yet it acted as a very handy cover for his plans to invade Iraq and bring democracy to the middle east, a relentless onslaught of democracy the world has had to live with ever since. I know that you and your government are not good with causal links, but it doesn’t take a genius to wonder why extremists groups have emerged in areas in which the west decided to introduce its somewhat unique brand of democracy? You talk about using ‘argument and persuasion’ and ‘people taking a stand to demonstrate the incredible power of our liberal, democratic values’, failing to mention it was the incredible power of our and US liberal, democratic values that blew Iraq to kingdom come.

You claim that Britain is a Christian nation and America claims it is a Christian nation, in fact at a recent prayer meeting to bless Donald Trump’s presidential hopes one religious leader said, ‘The only two nations that have ever been in a relationship with God are Israel and the United States of America’. Perhaps you can enlighten me on the gospel message about war and your hopes of a mandate from parliament to join those already engaged in attacking Syria, to ‘re-establish your international statesman credentials’. You claim that Islamist extremists in no way represent the true spirit of Islam, I wonder in what way you think you represent the true spirit of Christianity? Of course – you don’t.

It’s all gobbledygook, smoke and mirrors, hypocrisy and lies, you talk about ‘democracy, freedom and equality’ in a country that you are tearing apart to feed to corporate vultures in their rapacious hunger for profits and the wolves of The City and the stock markets. You are conducting an ever more vicious war against the poor, including breaking up our NHS which will harm the poor the most, you are not just abandoning the poor you are stealing the bread from their mouths and driving them out of their homes. This country is not a democracy, it’s a corporate dictatorship, no one is free in a country in which you say, ‘For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens ‘as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone’. And equality, huh, look at the two of us, you will never, ever, be my equal or if we ever were it would be to my eternal shame in having allowed myself to stoop so low.
